Learn to Love

I know this isn't like my other entries but I needed to share it with you. I just want to ask if you would join me in prayer for marriages and families. I know that’s pretty broad but I felt really pressed to pray. I don’t know about y’all but a huge majority of my friends (around my age) are struggling, separated, divorced or on their second separations/divorces. I don’t mean to come across as arrogant. Jon and I don’t have a perfect marriage. I also feel pressed to pray for the younger and future generations because I hate seeing the example ours has set. I know there are different circumstances that lead to that point and I know it’s not just my generation struggling but we seem to just give up so easily. We’ve missed the mark and we have no idea what commitment is. I wrote part of this prayer down to share with you all. Please join me in prayer, today. Father, we come before you asking you to intervene. I pray that my generation will come to know the beau...

Yep! I'm still alive!

Hey lovelies! I'm still alive!! Man, I’ve missed it here. Let me bring you up to speed on where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to the last cabillion days. Don't worry. It's abridged. I may have mentioned before that Jon and I have been meeting with couple, Tony and Jane, for mentoring.  They are a blast!  We’ve been enjoying getting together at least once a month. Jon and I aren’t on the rocks or anything but we knew it would be wise to have an older / experienced couple to talk to about things that could become problems if they weren’t handled correctly. Does that make sense? It’s really incredible how God formed this.  We both thought of the same couple to start our mentoring with but it was just a matter of asking them and we didn’t want to be a burden or sound like crazy folk.  Little did I know, they were in prayer over what was to happen next in their lives and when I mentioned the mentoring, it rang true. We’ve learned a lot so far including a thin...

Live & Believe

Wow. I'm so ready for Fall.  The temps were slightly lower today.  I took a deep breath outside and smiled.  It's coming but it sure is taking it's precious time.  There's just something about the air when Autumn arrives. It's crisp.  I love everything about it.  I was thinking about how Thanksgiving is right down the road.  BTW, what the crap is up with that?  The older I get, the quicker time flies. "Like sands in the hour glass..." Anyway, back to Thanksgiving. I relish in spending time with my family and thanking God for the many blessings He's given.  I'm even thankful for the things that were NOT blessings but ending up teaching me something or working out for the good. [Romans 8:28]   We need to be thankful every day .  I read something simple online the other day that I needed.  It said "What if we woke up today with only things we thanked God for yesterday?" Hmmmm.... My prayer today is that I always have a grateful ...

*Fashionable Friday* - You Go to My Head

Image
I'm going to start doing "Fashionable Friday" so I don't overload with my collages. I haven't figured out if I want to do this every Friday or not. I'll probably spread it out mix it up.  Anyway, the temps finally dropped some over here, which is good, but I'm having severe sinus headaches, which is not good. I feel like someone scrambled my brain. Blarg.  I hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend.  If all goes as planned, the hubs and I are having dinner with some friends of ours we rarely get to visit. We've starting planning regular visits with them.  They are really sweet people and Jon and I admire their marriage, not because it's perfect but because it's real.  They've been through a lot and they've managed to make it through and stay faith-driven. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from them and tonight I'm looking forward to learning how to grill the perfect steak and the perfect asparagus. :) HAVE A H...

Well, I guess I’m not a blogasaurus. Oh well. Let me pick up where I left off.  Jacqueline left the Tuesday before last and I was a mess.  I booed to the hooed. It’s crazy how I had never met her or talked to her on the phone and I instantly had a connection with her.  We have so much in common…everything from music, shoes, shopping, foods, views on relationships and even our bad habits. Sadly, I didn’t keep up with what we did on which days but I know we did a lot of shopping and talking.  It was a little hard to communicate at first.  Thank God, my mom was there to translate.  We used my German tutor app and dict.cc quite a bit too. She’s really amazing and I can’t wait to see her again.  She has plans to revisit and spend a year with us. =) Here's an abridged run-down of the activities. Spent time with our beautiful Oma! She watched me make my first marshmallow fondant cake. Went to the river and... visited the ducks &...

I’m so excited about this week.  Not only am I off work but I get to spend it with my cousin from Germany.  Aint she beautiful!? She’s going to be so throwed-off by us Southern folk. Lol! It’s my first time to meet her but thankfully, we’ve been able to stay in touch through Facebook. Tomorrow I’m meeting her at the airport. Woohoo!!!                   I leave you with a poem from today. Be Still. I shall update later with news of our adventures! :) FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM! /// Silverspeak7 I bend, I break You move, I shake I can’t, awake from this fear from this place With every storm and every wind I feel frailer than I began The skies above me roaring I see they’ve lost their hue Any strength that I have left in me is the strength I’ve found in you Be still my heart help me understand that though I feel alone You hold me in your hands. Be still. Be still. I c...
