Five & Counting


My Anniversary Weekend was AWESOME. I can't believe it's been 5 years. We had so much fun together.  We started the day off earlier than usually.  We used to sleep in all the time and lately, we are getting up earlier. Does this mean we’re finally growing up? Hmmm.  We hung around at the house trying to decide if we wanted to go out of town.  With Isaac having just grandpa’d his way through, we didn’t want to really travel.

Redneck picnic it was! I was so worried it was going to rain but thankfully it held up.  I was going to prepare some picnic food that morning but my hubby said he wanted a steak. Lol! Great picnic food right? Chili’s-to-go it was! We picked a sweet little spot by the river and enjoyed each others company. After that, we did a little bit of shopping.  We took Kaiser with us since we were also celebrating his birthday. He made 5 this month too! I wish I would've taken pics of him in Petsmart.  He was having so much fun and sniffed a lot of butts met a lot of interesting dogs.  So many people complimented him on his coat and how cute he is. I've heard people say…”Wait, dachshund…no, black lab? Wait…what is he?”  :)

We finished the day off with strawberries and champagne, silly pictures, and The Hunger Games.  I had no desire to see it but I’m sure glad we watched it because I loved it! Jon was filling me in on all the book details that the movie missed and I love that kind of commentary.  I don’t know if I’ll read the books because I barely make time for the ones I’m currently reading.  Speaking of, Francis Chan is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Are there any books you’re currently reading that you just can’t put down? And Oh em gee...have you seen the New HD Kindle Fire? Want!

    The last book I couldn't put down was Divergent, Before that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.
    Now I'm reading the Great Gatsby and Crazy Love! Francis Chan is amazing! He really let's God use him to write things we can all relate to!

    I love, love, love the picture you made for your hubby! I'm using it as inspiration for a gift for my parents 34th anniversary this year and for my hubby for our 11th anniversary in November :) Thanks fir the great ideas!

Well, the in-laws left yesterday morning and we had so much fun with them while they were here.  Eli is wild and hilariously fun.  It was a big adjustment having a two year old in our house for a week.  Our home isn't really child-proof and we are used to making plans, coming and going, without having to worry about attitudes and nap times.  It was interesting to say the least.  I love that kid.  He's so sweet in nature.  When he hugged me bye this morning, he just staying in my arms for a lil longer than your average hug.  I almost teared up and it was nice to just hold him.  His mom and dad are doing a great job raising him.  I'm looking forward to our next visit. Well, hello! Notice something different? Yup! I got a shnazzy new layout.  All thanks and love goes to Amy .  She's is so sweet to have taken the time out to do this for me.  I was blown away with the transition.  She has so many talents, including photography. If you don't know Amy, you're missing out so... Check her out ! Aside from drooling over my freshly designed blog, I've been preparing the house for our guests. They'll be here tomorrow!!!! I can't wait.  I'll also be cooking for them but NOT experimenting. Hahaha! I'm only using Jon as my guinea pig (btw, had a random dream last night that I owned a guinea pig. Random.).  Anyway, he doesn't seem to mind. I started asking him to grade it from 1-10 and so far I haven't been under 7. Woot! We got rain! Looks like we’ll have it all week. I’ve been enjoying these thunderstorms. They’ve been perfect. It would be even more perfect if I could just stay in bed with coffee Root 1: Cabernet Sauvignon and a book. You know that old house I told ya about? Well, my hubby went and took more pics. He’s expressed his newfound interest in photography. He’s having fun and I’m excited that he’s got a hobby he’s crazy about…other than xbox and all things movies. : ) Now, all the photos are from his phone but hopefully we can get him the camera he REALLY wants one day. Some of his recent babies… As for me, I’m so excited to say we’ll be having a beautiful baby boy! We’ve waited a long time. Of course the baby's parents will be with us too. What?
