Hello Hurricane, you can't silence my love.
I thought it would be appropriate to update. It’s been quite a while. We survived Isaac. Thankfully, we didn’t have any damage or
power outages where we are. However, so
many people have suffered due to this storm.
Please keep them in prayer.
Kaiser was being a little dramatic that he couldn't play outside. |
I spent my days waiting out the weather with my grandmother
who seemed to stay in a constant state of confusion. According to her…she was staying in my home,
we were getting ready for church, I’m from Texas and I didn't feed her for
lunch. Poor thing didn't know what was going on. She was in a great mood other than that. It was so cute at one point where after I fed
her lunch, she sighed contently and gave me an excuse about needing to
relax. So relaxing meant sitting in the
worn out spot on the couch watching NBC.
Now, my grandmother insists that anything electronic is of the devil but
yet she watches TV. I don’t blame her, it's just cute that the rule doesn't apply to her because she “turns the TV on for noise”. Lol!
Also, my grandmother (before this disease attacked her) was anything but lazy.
She was always go go go, do do do. So
when she tried to make an excuse about needing to relax I’m like, you’re almost
91…you can do WHATEVER you want to do. I
think you may have earned that right. I know she’s trying to make excuses
because the her before wouldn't have liked sitting there all day watching the
telly. I love her dearly. I hate seeing her mind dissipate like this
and I know it’s so hard on my mother who is her caregiver. It wears on her and it tears my heart up that
there is literally nothing I can do. I
can only pray and offer help to my mom so she can have a break sometime.
Tomorrow it’s been 5 years. That’s right…FIVE years married to my darling husband. I can’t wait to spend
the day with him and his goofy butt. I’m thinking if the weather is kind, we
can have a redneck picnic. That’s a
picnic in the bed of a pickup truck for those of you going “huh?” But I don’t
think the menu will consist of beer, deer meat, fried pork skins and beef
jerky. Haha! Yeah, we’re not going that
route.
If I can remember and MAKE TIME…I’ll post pictures of our
adventures. :)
I can't believe it's been 5 years already! You two are so cute together and perfect for eachother.
